"The Cerealia Times is in need of correspondents, reporters, photojournalists, and delivery personnel.
Correspondent: you are expected to respond to stories that break out in an assigned section of Cerealia, report the information at the scene, interview witnesses, and supply written stories. Mild literacy is required.
Reporters: you are expected to actively pursue assigned stories and conduct related interviews in a timely manner. Mild interpersonal skills a plus, but not essential. With approval, you will be free to investigate your own stories.
Photojournalists: you are expected to record newsworthy events on film. This may require taking shots under suboptimal conditions.
Delivery personnel: you are expected to transport, unload, and fold bundles of newspaper around Cerealia.
All of these jobs take long hours and are very demanding... but they're worth it. --Except for the delivery job, that's just busywork. Sss, sss!
Leave your contact information, desired post, and brief description of your experience, if any!"

action;
action;
...is this to stop writing articles about him?
action;
People around you are going to get hurt, otherwise. [ She places a hand on Widget, covering what emotion it's projecting. ] And I mean hurt. Physically.
action;
...is he threatening you now, too?
action;
... And cut it out with that manipulating business. He's not that kind of guy.
Re: action;
[slight pause, her face scrunches up]
...who do you think gave me the box I tried to give you?
action;
[ ... or so she thinks, anyway. ]
And that box thing happened two weeks ago, honestly.
action;
[--she stopped herself from saying "went home and cried"]
...I was humiliated. And if he didn't try to set that up, why haven't I gotten so much as an apology...?
All he's ever done is insult me. You heard the evidence, I played it for you at the cafe when we first met. He ridiculed me. He ridiculed journalism. He ridiculed cardboard. --Things I obviously have strong opinions about.
action;
Not everybody apologises for the things they've done. But that doesn't mean you should be writing your personal issues in a newspaper, no less.
Archer's a jerk, sure, but his heart is in the right place. He's just not good at expressing himself. [ Ugh, that's not the point. ]
From how I see things, you'll eventually start writing more articles filled with false accusations. I think I've had enough of that from you in one lifetime. And if you keep doing that, you'll make a lot of enemies.
You probably already have some, and your friends are just trying to control the problem from outside so that they don't get to you. [ Hint, hint. ]
action;
I just called it how I see it. "Jerk" is opinion. He can't prove he's not a "jerk". That means it's protected press freedom and you can't ever be sued for writing someone's a "jerk."
[like "she-devil," even if the situation with Archer and Juniper was completely different]
I also said he impersonates teenage girls for fun, because I can demonstrably prove he's done that. Neither of these are false accusations, Athena.
action;
...wait a second, did he send you to talk to me to back up his threats?
action;
[ She may have just yelled there, but she just can't contain herself when her friends are being talked about in a negative light. ]
Can you imagine yourself as a judge, and getting wrapped up in your emotions before passing a judgement? I'd rather get arrested than be in court with somebody like that!
action;
N-no! Of course not... J-judges only judge based on evidence...
[and how much the prosecutor bullied them]
action;
[ THAT'S ALSO A LIE. I'm gomen, Myriam. ]
If you continue calling people "cruel", or defaming them for no particular reason, then I don't think I'll be able to see you anymore.
action;
...Why?
...is your life in danger?
action;
action;
Please, Athena, if you're afraid, let's go together! I... I'm sure I can get us in to talk to the Chief...
action;
I can't do that. More people will get in trouble if that happens.
action;
[if widget was activated, this sure would be the part her mood matrix would go haywire, and being out of her box just magnifies the panic]
W-what do I need to do!? Please, I'll do anything...!
action;
Ugh... Myriam, calm down! It's- It's fine. Just stop, okay?
... actually, if you could apologise to Archer for the jerk thing, that. . . that would be great. He might even stop being a jerk to you...
Re: action;
...those articles? All right! Done! I'll send it right now! Y-you can watch me!
[s-she went for her CERESvice and started to type]
....kahk-kahk-kahk.
[turns the screen to her, it's a text addressed to Archer:
"you win.
i'm sorry.
no more "jerk" articles ever again.
so please help athena."
she still had to hit the "send" button.]
...Is this okay?
action;
She grabs the CereVice and changes some of the text. She may as well go with this since it seems to be working.
No more false accusations.
I'm sorry. ]
Something like that might be better...? I think he'd get mad if he found out about the person threatening me.
action;
[SOMETHING'S NOT ADDING UP, and now the panic's giving way to confusion]
...wait, is this... --is this about the text-messages we had privately over the survey...?
action;
Look, I don't know much about what's going on between the people who dislike what you're writing and you. I'm just here to make sure you don't get hurt.
And just in case my case hasn't been made clear: Archer would never hurt anybody over something like that. He'd rather get himself hurt than endanger people's lives.
action;
[...???]
[...!]
O-oh! Someone... someone must be hacking in to read our private messages after-all! Kahk-kahk-kahk! Oh gawd, I knew that wasn't secure! I understand, Athena! I'll rewrite right away... I'll make sure even the hacker can recognize it.
[turns the device screen back to her, re-types!
"i'm sorry.
i didn't mean what i said.
i was just in a bad mood.
athena says you are good person.
a good person you must be.
you were probably right about napoleon too.
everything okay, then?"
--and then turns that back to her]
There! ...Howabout now?
